I swapped the Si engine with a DX motor, I retained my ECU, Wire harness, distributer, and intake manifold,
WEll, this engine decides to run like poopoo on me and ECU throws a code 7 and a code 5.
For some reason the spark plugs get coated black and the idle lopes and runs "just doesnt sound right" Took the car for a test drive and boy it lagged alot of power, I believe the timing is correct on the car because it has never been messed with.
Also i would like to add that smoke comes out the exhaust and i messed with the fuel pressure and still no luck.

so all you have that is dx is the block and head, with everything else from the si. what is code 5,7 ? maybe your car is running too rich. how long has it been since the dx motor was ran and how long have you been running the dx motor because it could be just carbon build up from the motor not running in a long time. if you havent ran the motor that long maybe you should try drive it a few more times, maybe it will stop

Code 5-> Map Sensor-check your vacuum line connections. I had the same code after my b16 swap.
Code 7-> TPS- check to see if the sensor on the back of the TB is broken.

Dont' the Dx and Si have different cams. You're running an Si ECU right? I dont' know if that would affect anything or not. Just my $0.02.

Code 7 likely means that your tps sensor is broken. You will either have to buy a whole new throttle body on swap one from another throttle body from a junker. The TPS will cause the car to run funky.

what ecu, is currently in the car???
if it is the SI, you have to have done the
dpfi - mpfi swap...
I tried a SI ecu in my stock DX and it ran like you say yours did, power is gone @ 3000 rpms or so, and it smokes like hell
plug in the DX ecu, and give it a whirl, or do the dpfi - mpfi swap....

i have an Si with a "dx swap"..haha. it's just a DX block and head (not even sure if it's the head too...i think that still might be Si). but i bought the car like that..didn't realize it wasn't the stock engine. but it runs great. it's quicker than my DX, but not as fast as an 'Si'...haha
